This Japanese man was just visiting the leaning tower when tragedy struck. Maybe the leaning stairs were too much for him? The Japanese tourist died on Tuesday while visiting the iconic tower in Pisa, the city fire department said. The 63 year old was on the 4th floor of an inclined Tuscan monument when he fell ill and died on the place emergency services tried to revive him.
The local fire department stated the reason for death was unknown, and will wait for the autopsy to confirm cause of death, a spokesperson for Pisa’s fire brigade told AFP.
The striking monument, which attracts hoards of tourists to Pisa annually, was temporarily closed to the public on account of the incident, local media reported. Rest in peace, old man!
